The article Visappu has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable collection. One ref has a passing mention, the other none at all.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

[edit]Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:
- dates
- years
- commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
- common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).
This even applies for infoboxes, too.
Thanks and my best wishes.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Varanasi (novel), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.thehindu.com/books/books-reviews/transience-of-human-love/article5740413.ece.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of Varanasi (novel)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Varanasi (novel) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.thehindu.com/books/books-reviews/transience-of-human-love/article5740413.ece. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. na bangaaru talli
[edit]thank u for changing the spelling of the film title. However, I was the creator of the article, plz dont spoil the infobox Mathsraja (talk) 18:22, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- it was not a remake, it was dubbed into malayalam. The film is based on real story happened in andhra, the director deliberately made it into telugu. please stop POV pushing. Mathsraja (talk) 18:30, 17 April 2014 (UTC))
thank u for the info. However, there are some rules and regulations for Directorate of film festivals to send remakes and bilinguals. As per that rule this film was not sent as a bilingual. hope this clarifies. However, I am still working on the source. Mathsraja (talk) 18:39, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- That is what I am saying it is a bilingual film like Eega, you cannot call bilinguals as remakes. DFF website indicates na bangarru talli (Telugu) which was sent to the jury source: http://www.dff.nic.in/61st_NFA-_for_FeatureFilms.pdf Mathsraja (talk) 19:02, 17 April 2014 (UTC) This article has to be prepared in the manner of Eega, or kept as seperate, the question of remake do not arise. Mathsraja (talk) 19:02, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Eega was a bilingual simultaneously shot in Tamil as Naani distributed by different people. please go through the article carefully. The film was later dubbed into malayalam and hindi. After 6 months the articles eega and nanee were merged into one. You can check the talk page of article eega.Mathsraja (talk) 19:13, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- tamil version of eega was also screened at chennai international film festival Mathsraja (talk) 19:18, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
I have corrected your statement as Ente was simultaneously produced in telugu. I think now the issue is clear.Mathsraja (talk) 19:23, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- Generally speaking the film na bangaaru talli was not even released in Andhra till date. I dont know what prompted the director rajesh to send the telugu version to DFF Mathsraja (talk) 19:27, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

re "purely promotional"
[edit][1] The content consists of the director claiming his film isnt a cliche and calling it both "tasteful" and "high voltage". That would be the textbook example of being "purely promotional" -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 04:37, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
- what the director wants to spread about his film is quite irrelevant and generally contrary to our purpose as an encyclopedia. of course he is going to promote it as "unique" and "not merely" - he's got a huge conflict of interest. promotional and self serving quotes from the "inside" make up a huge proportion of celebrity gossip sites, but they are of little value to encyclopedias. we depend upon third party analysis. if we have a third party saying something, we might want to include the insider's perspective, but without someone from the outside making commentary to set a context, the insider's preening about their own work is just fluff. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 10:47, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
- If you cannot see that the whole point of his quote is to set his film as being apart from other films, to grant it a distinction and novelty that is not possessed by other films, i cannot help you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 11:57, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

[edit]http://www.mathrubhumi.com/movies/malayalam/423355/ "കളക്ഷന് റെക്കോഡില് ചരിത്രം കുറിച്ച് ദൃശ്യം"]. This source didn't says that 20:20 is the second grossing film of all time and also that source is written in Malayalam so it is not a proper source.....
- The third sentence in the Mathrubhumi link says that Drishyam has become the highest grossing film in the 85 year history of Malayalam cinema. The following sentence says that Drishyam crossed the record set by Twenty:20. So whatever written in the respective wiki article can be very well seen in the cited source also. And vernacular media are considered equivalent to English media sources in wiki. Also per WP:FILM, vernacular sources are preferable than English language sources in case of foreign films. Hope your queries are answered. Malayala Sahityam (talk) 19:02, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Jenuse Mohamed
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jenuse Mohamed, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -G.A.WILMBROKE [ USER / ALT / TALK / CONTRIBS ] 06:23, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Uthara Unnikrishnan
[edit]Hello Malayala Sahityam,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Uthara Unnikrishnan for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

Lailaa O Lailaa
[edit]From the source of IBTimes, their verdict was based on 3 reviews & 2 of them are unprofessional sites onlookersmedia and lensmen.com. So it cannot be used as an overall verdict of the film as "below average". Even the heading of the article is "'Lailaa O Lailaa' Movie Review Round-Up: Critics Rate Mohanlal–Amala Paul Starrer as "Average" It questions articles credibility. And IBTimes is not a review aggregator. "The sources must be based on facts". And i had added another source click here from IBTimes itself saying "the film has opened to average reviews". it's contradicting. And more over an additional source, which is much important for Wikipedia. VagaboundWind (talk) 07:54, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for the notification at User talk:Harithvh#Recent page moves and extermely sorry for overriding the policies, which was never my indention, which is rather to keep the right information on the specified pages.
If the books that are subjects of the respective articles (Goat Days, Kesavan's Lamentations and God's Mischief) are more known with their English titles, than their original titles, then the keeping English titles shall be fine (eg:The Three Musketeers), however the case of these titles are not similar I suppose, and statement like God's Mischief (original title: Daivathinte Vikrithikal) is a 1989 Malayalam novel written by M. Mukundan, is grossly misleading as the translation was reportedly released in 2013 as per the article and this amounts to scripting error, that implies God's Mischief is a 1989 Malayalam novel. Please start the discussion about the same so that you and those who involved in the contents of the respective articles can reach a consensus regarding the same, referring to multiple sources both online and offline, I'll better step back for now as there are other major contributors to the articles.
Kindly keep the right information on the respective pages.
Apart from the above, let me use this opportunity to bring into your notice about the translations of Indulekha (novel) on the respective page. As per your edit on 05:05, 29 May 2014, The novel has been translated into many languages. Kindly do the quantification of the many and clarification of languages, both are tagged as per the requirements as on 16 February 2015, your edit is only about English translations. Information given might be in accordance with the cited article from the Mathrubhumi Illustrated Weekily, but its better to rewrite with additional references or as a quotation (please use the quote parameter in the citation template, while doing so) by the respective authors, if you are not sure about the details.
Happy Editing

The content clearly hasn't been there since March 2010 because the page was only created in August 2015 and hadn't existed before. Did you copy the text from another article? If so you need to follow the procedure in WP:CWW and attribute it to the source article in your edit summary. (Otherwise using that text is actually a copyright violation unless you added it yourself.) Hut 8.5 06:10, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Hut 8.5: Thanks for the information. I didn't know that copying within wikipedia requires proper attribution. The parent article was created in 2010 and the plot summary was added by User:Sreejithk2000. I will now attribute the content to the original author in the edit summary. Malayala Sahityam (talk) 06:37, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
- That's fine, thanks. (You don't necessarily have to do it in the edit where you attribute the content, you can just make any old edit to the page and include something like that in the edit summary.) Hut 8.5 17:54, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

@Dvellakat: Many YouTube videos are illegally uploaded and are copyright violation. We normally include video links only if the film is in public domain. Replaceable fair use File:Vallathol Narayana Menon.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Vallathol Narayana Menon.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 00:32, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chokher Bali. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi friend, The literary award in the name of O. V. Vijayan that Mathews and V. M. Devadas received recently is different from the award mentioned in the article by name, O. V. Vijayan Literary Award. The one in the article is given by Naveena Samskaarika Kala Kendram, Hyderabad (https://www.dcbooks.com/o-v-vijayan-literary-award-for-karunakaran.html) while the award which was announced recently is sponsored by O. Do you know any websites like internet archive from where we could collect information from old Malayalam newspapers? This could be really helpful. Thilsebatti (talk) 09:23, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
- I do not think there are any. However, Internet Archive does have some old magazines like Malayalanadu, Kalakaumudi, and Malayalam Vaarika archived. Although these collections are not complete, they still have a good number of issues available. Also, the Indian Express Madras edition is available on Google Newspapers and has a good coverage of Kerala topics. You may already be aware of this, but otherwise, it is a very useful resource. Author not found in the list
[edit]Hi. I created Ambadi Ikkavamma by translating from the Malayalam wikipedia. As per ml wiki and a source from Mathrubhumi, she is the winner of 1978 Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award. But I was not able to find her name on the list of any of the 12 categories. Any idea what went wrong? Thilsebatti (talk) 06:49, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi User:Thilsebatti. Apologies for the delayed response. I have checked the official website for the award recipients across all the categories for 1978 and other years and I could not find her name listed. Additionally, I also checked the recipients of the endowment awards (some of which were active in 1978), but her name did not appear there either. It seems that the Mathrubhumi source is incorrect. IMO, it would be advisable to remove the claim of her receiving the award. Malayala Sahityam (talk) 11:38, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

Don't force Wikipedia to support its own preferences
[edit]Don't force Wikipedia to support its own preferences, don't remove Controversy sections from the E. P. Jayarajan when there is clear WP:RELIABLE, poor quality of writing can be re-edited, don't change sections of Controversy, this is a current event on this page of E. P. Jayarajan. There also Arya Rajendran ~ Spworld2 talk 12:36, 01 May 2024 (UTC)
Controversy sections E. P. Jayarajan and Arya Rajendran
[edit]Your continued removal of the Controversy section looks like something for WP:CONFLICT, and I hope you know that Wikipedia is not a WP:NOTPROMO. There is a clear WP:REF to the Controversy section on Jayarajan's page To maintain the section. Even the Chief Minister of the state has referred to this in a press conference and said there is evidence for it
Similarly, this Arya Rajendran also comes in the same case as the above. The mayor used his own car to block public transport and there was a verbal dispute, and there are many evidences of this including CCTV footage.
Continuing to remove this conversancy makes your Wikipedia editing experience appear as if your politics (WP:CONFLICT) are exposed. ~ Spworld2 talk 4:36, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
